Steamed Tofu with Mashed Shrimps 百花蒸豆腐


Fresh shrimps                     200g

Tofu                                     1 pack

Shallot                                  2pcs

Salt                                       dash

Soy sauce                             1 tbsp

Spring onion                        1 sprig

Corn starch                           1 tsp

Egg white                              2 tsp


Cooking Steps:

  • Peel and devein the fresh shrimps. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry with kitchen towel. Marinate shrimps and process into a thick paste. To make shrimp paste springy, wet your hand with water, pick up the shrimp paste and throw against the bottom of mixing bowl or plate many times until the paste attains that springy texture.

  • Cut tofu into require shape and size. Lightly sprinkle cornflour on the surface of the tofu. Spoon shrimp paste on top of tofu and stream for 8 to 10 minutes. 

  • While steaming, prepare sauce by frying shallot with oil for 1 minutes, turn off heat and add soysauce to taste.

  • Remove excessive water after tofu steaming. Splash sauce on top and ready to serve.
